These types of film are attached to the window pane from the outside. You can remove the pane before fitting, but this is not necessary. Film attached on the outside is considerably more effective than film attached on the inside, since it directly reflects back sunlight, without it having to penetrate through the window pane (as with an inner film) in which case the pane heats up intensely. A sun protection film to be attached on the outside can be applied to all types of glass without hesitation. There is no risk here that the window panes will heat up intensely or that stress cracks will form! The darker the film is tinted, the stronger the protection from sunlight and warmth as well as the darkening effect. A reflective sun protection film functions like a mirror on the outside and tinted on the inside during the day, somewhat like sunglasses. Our differently coloured sun protection films (e.g. green, gold, bronze,..) enable

adapting of colours to the facade or window frame. The different colours also influence the tint. Thus, for example, a copper coloured sun protection film has a very warm effect and a blue film is more likely to be cool. Summer room temperatures can be considerably reduced by attaching a sun protection film. At the same time, all our films have insulating properties that let less warmth escape outside in winter as well. Please observe that in the case of protective glass for sunlight and warmth as well as sloped and overhead glazing and gas filled double glazing, the film must be attached on the outside on all accounts. It is also advisable to use an external film in the case of normal double glazing since the cavities between window panes can heat up very intensely in this case.
